Entry: The Removal... Thursday, April 13, 2006

Q : What's worse than waiting for your turn to have your wisdom tooth removed?

A: Watching two other people go through the same process, the first (a Malay woman ) who emerged crying, the second ( a rather big-sized guy ) looking very dazed and disoriented.. Surprise

By the time the second patient was done, one could just imagine how terrified your's truly was.. Shocked

Sometimes, having a dad who's the ex Pengarah Pergigian Pahang isn't so good after all.. ( considering we were ushered into the operation theatre early, and i got to watch the other two unfortunate people go through it first.. Definitely NOT a process i wanted to repeat.. Angry)

There was another doctor talking to my dad while we were waiting. In the middle of a sentence, he suddenly stopped talking and remarked that i looked really petrified, and maybe i should wait outside? ( Yeah, that would have really helped me a lot, like, two patients ago..? They shouldn't even have brought me in the room before it was my turn..! Sad )

Soon enough, it was my turn.. ( They had to wait a few minutes 'cause i was shivering too much from the cold ) Then came the injection, drilling sounds, etc.. ( i closed my eyes from the injection onwards..felt a lot of pulling and sawing, but thankfully no pain, yet, that is.. )

Anyway, point is, the operation itself wasn't as bad as i imagined it to be. ( you see, the reason is 'cause the traumatic part comes a lil later, bout 2 hours after the operation..!cry )

* Which, by the way, explains why i'm still awake at 4 a.m at the moment.. ( sure, i was given painkillers, but i have yet to see its usefulness so far.. )

Arggh, it feels like the very thread used to stitch the wound has broken, thus explaining the non-stop bleeding.. It was a miserable day, what with sleeping an hour, crying the next, falling into an exhausted slumber for another hour, woken up by pain an hour later, etc..

On the bright side, ( well, not really bright at the moment, considering i bled into my porridge and water during dinner.. It's a long story, don't ask.. Sad) Oh yes, the bright side.. i think this time, i'll actually lose a lot of weight, since all i had today was a few spoonfull's of porridge..

Oops, excuse me, i just spat another glob of blood into the sink.. By now, the unfortunate sink looks like someone just slaughtered a chicken there.  ( Erm, kinda spooky, actually, considering its 4 in the morning.. Shocked) Right, the less mention of bloody sinks, the better..

In conclusion, i would like to recommend anyone who's about to have their wisdom tooth removed, to go buy some ( okay, i mean A LOT ) of anesthetic.. It doesn't hurt till the damned anesthetic wears off.. ( and trust me, it's very bloody business, this removal of wisdom teeth.. )

Oh, an interesting thought just occured to me.. Since i'm now short of one wisdom tooth, does that make me any less intelligent? Hmm, on second thoughts, i don't really give a damn, as long as someone makes the pain go away...!!!!! cry

* Thank you to the wonderful people who listened patiently while i cried/ranted bout my tooth, and offered extremely useful advice.. You guys are the sweetest friends ever..! Smile

Ow.. ( * spits another glob of blood ) Its time for Plan B : Sleeping pills..! Since i can't make the pain go away, might as well drug myself to sleep, yes? ) Good night..!
